Setting up and Activating Business Rules for Customers
The first step in activating rules for a customer is to log into the Superadmin account. Under the Administrator tab, click Business Rules List.
Once on the business rule list, there will be a list of all business rules in the TeamKeeper system. Put a checkmark next to all of the rules that the customer wants active on their site. Note the rules labeled “Deprecated” in red. These are rules that are no longer active in the system. After you have selected all of the rules that need to be active on the customer’s site, click Submit at the bottom of the page.
Setting Up Business Rules
The first step for setting up a business rule is to select Business Rule management from the Accounting tab on the front page.
Once on the business rule management page, you can select the business rule you want to use from the Business Rules dropdown. Once you select a business rule the description below it will change after the page reloads. Any text with a red font in the description is a variable or criteria that can be changed below. In this guide, the variables will be typed in bold and italics.
For instance, the below screenshot shows the Pay type/Hours business rule configured so that “User can not charge Overtime Pay before he/she charges Regular Pay 40 hours.” This means that the user has to charge at least 40 hours to the Regular Pay before they can charge to the Overtime Pay pay type.
Once you will need to set up whom the rule is targeted towards. You can choose to include or exclude certain people. You can assign it to a Group, Role, Employee, Exempt Status, Employee Type, and Class. In the below example, the rule is being set up to include the employee named Jeff Manto, as a member of the group Bisons.
After you’ve determined which employee or employees you are applying the rule to, you will need to set a date as to when the rule will take effect. These dates can be backdated. If you want a rule to be in place indefinitely, leave the End Date field blank. In the scenario below, the rule will start on August, 1st 2019, and go on indefinitely.
The final step is to click Add at the bottom of the page. Once you’ve added the rule, it will be added to the list of all of the active rules at the bottom of the page.
To remove rules, select the check boxes from this list, and click Remove All Selected.
